Mumbai: Central Railway to run 90 special trains for Ganesh festival

MUMBAI: The Central Railway will run 90 special trains to cater to the rush during Ganesh festival.

"We will run 52 reserved special trains and 38 unreserved trains during the ensuing Ganesh festival," said CR spokesperson A K Singh. There will be 28 reserved specials between Mumbai and Madgaon. The trains for Madgaon will leave CST at 12.20am for six days (except Thursday) from August 26 to September 10 and reach destination 2.10pm same day.

The train from Madgaon will leave at 2.40pm (except Thursday) from August 26 to September 10 (14 trips) and will arrive CST at 4.35am next day.

The halts will be at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Savarde, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilawade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Zarap, Sawantwadi Road, Madure, Pernem, Thivim and Karmali.

There will be six services for reserved specials between LTT and Karmali from August 25 and 10 services of specials between CST and Karmali from August 26 among other services, officials said.

Sources said that Western Railway too has planned 26 specials for Ganesh festival.
