The House adjourned first till 11.17am and second time till noon.
As soon as the Upper House resumed its business for the day, members of the AIADMK raised the issue demanding suspension of Question Hour to discuss the issue and taking action against those responsible for the publication of a provocative and demeaning article and caricature, showing Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The article on the website sought to trivialize Jayalalithaa's efforts to highlight Indian fishermen's trouble in mid-sea.
Though the Sri Lankan authorities removed the article from the website and issued an 'unqualified' apology, it did not pacify the AIADMK leaders who sought probe and action against those who was instrumental in publishing such article on the official website of the neighboring country.
The AIADMK members, who entered the well of the House, were also heard asking for severing all diplomatic ties with Sri Lanka in protest against such article.
