Overstaying of ex-ministers in official bungalows: SC issues notice to Centre

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has sought the Centre's response on a letter written by ex-CAG Vinod Rai alleging large scale overstaying by former ministers in Lutyen's zone bungalows.

Vinod Rai's letter alleged that the violators included Lalu Prasad Yadav who allegedly overstayed to allow granddaughter complete her education.

The apex court on Friday asked the Centre to reply in four weeks and appointed senior advocate Shyam Divan as amicus curiae in the case.
