VADODARA: An over 10-feet-long crocodile that had appeared three days back near the Vishwamitri river bank has been captured by forest officials.

The reptile was caught on Thursday after horrified locals of Bharvad area asked the forest officials to trap the crocodile as it had strayed into the Fatehgunj zone of the city from the river bank, forest officials said today.

It had created panic among the locals as they suspected the reptile to have killed a dog and some cattle in the area.

Later, the locals and the staff of forest department succeeded in trapping the reptile.

Hundreds of people from Bharvad locality and surrounding areas gathered to catch a glimpse of the crocodile as it was bundled into a cage after it was taken away.
