SC sends notice to CBI for quashing of chargesheet in 2G case

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has issued notice to CBI on the plea of 2G scam accused seeking quashing of charges framed against them nearly 3 years ago.

The accused had moved Delhi HC challenging the trial court's decision to frame charges against them.

The proceedings had been earlier stayed on CBI request citing SC's earlier direction that only it can hear appeals against 2G trial court orders.

The trial is at the fag end, but the SC decided to hear the petitions by 22 accused saying they never had a chance to challenge framing of charges.
