MIAMI: Tropical Storm Jerry is moving over the Atlantic Ocean about 1,300 miles (2,095 kilometres) east of Bermuda and poses no immediate threat to land.
The US National Hurricane Center in Miami said on Monday night that the storm had maximum sustained winds of 50 mph (85 kph). Jerry is moving toward the east at 8 mph (13 kph) and forecasters say it is expected to begin moving erratically in coming days.
Jerry is the 10th tropical storm of the Atlantic season.
